Chill Weekend
This weekend did not have anything scheduled which means we lounged around and did what we wanted, when we wanted to do it. That happens so rarely that it was nice and we didn't take it for granted!
I think Saturday we didn't get dressed till noon, which is one of my favorite things! Then i began working on Henry's Birthday party decorations and figuring out what to have to eat at his party. The girls were sketching out there designs for the pinewood Derby cars that they are racing for awana. This will be Bella's last year doing this. Sad.
Sunday was so nice everyone slept in and that is a rare event at our house. We all loaded up and went to Michaels craft store after lunch, well because Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays. Sad Face!!! But i was pleasantly surprised with the improvements they have made. They have changed the stuff they carry and the layout of our store. We went there for a few acrylic paint to paint the derby cars and left 50.00 poorer. First off i had the whole family with which always means someone picks something they cant live without and second they carry fairy garden supplies and i really suck at saying no to that stuff for the girls. I also got suckered into saying yes was a derby car for Henry. He is not at that level in awana so he doesn't get to build a derby car and he felt left out.
We spent the good part of the afternoon paint and putting together derby cars together. We still have some details to add to the each of the girls but it was a good start. Kate is doing a Too Sweet derby car theme. Bella is doing Penelope Cruz from Wreck It Ralph derby car. They are both adorable. Henry and Dad made a superman derby car together.
I couldn't wait any longer for spring to show up i decided to go scoop the poo in the yard which lead me picking up all the fallen sticks. Seriously we have enough sticks to build a house. I am so ready to be planting and doing yard work again, instead of staring out of the window dreaming about it.
We even managed to do a family kettle bell work out together. It was fun but super dangerous!! Kids and kettle bells is very hilarious and also they come close to whacking you with a weight or decide they are done and lay on the ground right next to where your swinging your kettle bell. I have to to say we are alive and no one got hurt!
We have one more day of spring break for the girls. Henry has ECFE class tomorrow and it's a drop off so the girls and i will be on a adventure together while he is at school. It was a nice break and we did some baking, visiting Great Grandma, the Haggenmiller Grandparents, gym time, painting, leprechaun trapping, slushy adventures, library visits, playing with friends, and lounging around. Bella said she is ready for school to be back and Kate of course is the opposite. I think Henry will be really missing them when they return back.
