envelope system

So we are going to be doing a new system for our money. I have tracked every item we have spent into categories and figured out where ever last cent we made has gone this last month. And let me tell ya i was way off,  grocery's and take out were way higher then I thought. So i decided to go with the money in the envelope technique. I did this back in college and it worked great. So every category gets a budget and set amount of money we can use. And when its gone its gone. No more relying on savings to cover it. Wish me luck. I would recommend everybody tracking where they spend there money for a whole month. I Dare Ya!
