Celiac Friendly Pantry

It's amazing how much food has gluten in it. It hides in everything and it goes by different names.  Once you start really reading the labels you find you are left with a bare pantry and fridge/freezer.

I don't want to have those items in the house because i want kate to safely eat everything in the house and we don't have to worry she accidentally ate a gluten item.

I now have two laundry baskets overflowing with items to give away to people who can eat this.  It sucks to watch the money go down the drain on food we love but can't eat. But it's worth it in the outcome.

my fridge door is very bare.... Most of the items above are for stir fry or some chinese dish i love to make. But unfortunately soy sauce is there main ingredient and that is not GF

And my cabinet that has all my pastas is currently empty.... We have tried trader joes brown rice & quinoa spaghetti noodles and loved them. The cooking process scarred us because while cooking the noodles a thick goo was bubbling in the pot but once we drained the noodles it was fine.  You have to really watch your pasta when your cooking with GF pasta the times are a bit different then normal.

our breakfast mainly consisted of oatmeal and since that is a high cross contamination item we are going to eliminate it.

pre made seasoning packs and gravy is another big gluten filled item.

the freezer wasn't to bad but i did just buy the tilapia so i think i will return it to costco.

And i'm sure i missed a few things because i have not learned all the different names of gluten but
slowly we will be filling up our fridge and cabinets with items we love that are GF.

All of these items are going to people who can eat and enjoy them.
