Mama Was Flying Solo
Scott's work took them up to Red lake for a weekend on the lake. They stayed in cabins out on the lake from Friday morning to Sunday this past weekend,and they were not roughing it at all. There little fish house had carpet on the floor and stoves to cook dinner.
So here is a little glimpse into my weekend with the kid do's by myself
Henry decided to wake up at 5 am friday morning and then screamed so loud about getting his breakfast that he woke Bella up. He was not satisfied with that so he ran into Kate's bedroom and jumped on her head till she got up. Ugh so we are all sitting on the couch wondering why we were up at this time! Well the little trouble maker left the couch cuddle and kate took his spot well that led to him having a massive melt down and bit her chest. Poor sweetie! I figured at that moment life won't get any worse because it can't! Well i was right it started to look up from there. I was determined to make it through this weekend by myself and still have my sanity. After the girls were at school we played and cleaned and rearranged his bedroom and by 11:30 he was ready to crash! Sweet. I even took a short nap while he was napping.
We were going to have pizza for dinner so i prepped that before the girls were home from school, i thought it would be fun to make fun shaped pizza for each of them. Henry got a mickey mouse, kate had a ice skate, and bella had a pizza shaped like a person. They felt special which was what i was hoping!
After dinner we picked up the neighbor girl and headed to the YMCA. I needed a good workout, i might have eaten to many monster cookies i made earlier, and i felt guilty. When i was heading to go get them out of kids stuff one of our favorite workers had henry's pants and i was like this is not going to be good! He asked to pee on the potty and then came back and pooped in his pants and took them off and began playing in the tube. They said they had trouble getting him down so they had a lot of cleaning up to do! I got him cleaned up and apologized like crazy and bolted home. I think i will be making a cookie basket for them...
The girls hopped in the shower and washed there hair so i can check for lice again. I am happy to report i found nothing! I am going to continue to check like a mad mama. They went to bed at 8 and of course henry turned off his baby monitor so i snuck in 30 min. later and woke him up... So much for sneaking! 35 min. later he was asleep. I wish i slept good but i don't sleep when the Mr. is away.
6:15 the next morning the same little guy was calling for me to come open his door! This time no screaming happened, but he does love his breakfast. He asked for cereal and then he saw i was having oatmeal and asked for that so i made a small small bowl for him with bananas. When the girls got up he wanted more breakfast. Seriously???? Nope that was not happening.
Bella decided to turn our home into a obstacle course/ gym. They had to jump over stuff run around items and up the stairs and down the stairs and sit ups and push ups. She is hard core they did that for about 40 min. Sweet i like that they are all playing nicely together.
That is all parents wish! I started laundry and began boiling my norwex rags. It was time and they were all playing so i figured i would go for it!
I have asked Henry if he had to potty every 15 min. and i went to switch over the laundry and came back and asked him again, this time he said i did over there. He peed on the table chair and covered it with the pillows i just brought back in from being outside (lice outbreak). Really??? More laundry... #joysofpottytraining.
We had to make some cupcakes for tomorrows birthday party we were going to so we made a little pan of mini cupcakes to have with our hot coco. Going to birthday parties mean that i make cupcakes and treats but i am glad when we are not left out from coming to them because of our food restriction. Believe it or not a the birthday party invites that we normal go to some have stopped inviting us. Which is sad to do that over food issues! Oh well, i guess!
After Henry woke from his mid day nap we all went swimming at the YMCA... It was not to crowed and the splashing was at a record low. We swam for about a hour and half and headed home to make some dinner. I have to say Henry got out of the pool to go #2 which is a big deal for him! We are slowly getting it.... After dinner Kate and Henry watched a little tv while Bella and i played six-era card game. I have to say i am feeling very accomplished at this time.. No it was not a day of smooth sailing we had a few moments arise but my anger was slow to react. Which is a total win for me.
On Sunday we headed out to the Brown Family Adventure Park for our neighbors daughters first birthday. They rented the place before ours we had it all to ourselves. It's like a indoor play tubes climbing and slide place. I even joined in on the fun with the kids and climbed around with them. We will be for sure going there soon to get our winter wiggles out. Kate had a rough time leaving she really wanted a toy out of a crane game machine so i had to carry her unwilling body to the car with her crying. She makes things tough when she drags her heels. Henry went down for a nap shortly after we got home and Dad made it home in time to shower and head to church. We spent the evening catching up with each other after the kids went to bed. It's easier to talk when you don't have 3 kids trying to talk too!
It was a overall good weekend with lots of fun adventures with just me and the kid's. I do plan to cash in a mom go away for the weekend adventure soon. That doesn't happen ever! It time....
