Cleaning for a reason
So today i had a great day at work! Our company has partnered with this organization that helps cancer patients get there homes cleaned while they are going thru there treatments. They don't make us volunteer to clean it but you can sign up. I wasn't going to do it at first because i need as much money in my paycheck as i can get these days. But it was really heavy on my heart to do it. So me and my cleaning partner belkis decided we would, and we went there today in golden valley. Let me tell you she couldn't be more sweet. She was going thru and cleaning with us, and i told her to sit down and drink some coffee and enjoy your time. We are only given two hours and we will come once a month for the next 4 months. And her house so needed us and the best part she really appreciated us. Of course nosey me had to ask her all these questions about her and her life. She has been battling her cervical cancer for the last 3 1/2 years, and she has finally found a drug that is really prolonging her life at the moment. She is married, and a mother of a 15 year old that they adopted who really enjoys soccer. It's amazing what positive energy this women has with everything that she has had to deal with. She has had to put her life and career on hold just so she can focus on this terrible disease that is trying to kill her. This women has really brought great joy just getting to know her for those two hours.
I feel like cancer is hitting so many people that i know. You cant escape it, but you fear it will be you. How sad is that! Another lady that our company cleans for, that i see every two weeks just died from a long battle with cancer last week. It was so sad to be in her house with out her there, what do you say to her husband, son and granddaughter who are left behind? Well at least i had great pleasure in meeting her and watching her enjoy her grand baby while i cleaned her home. That is the hard part about my job, losing people that you have gotten to know and enjoy their company while you help them out.

Matthew 25:40 Truly I say unto you , as you did it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you did it unto me. (said our Lord). God gave you the opportunity and you took it. Twyla
