Parents of a 9 Year Old

Bella likes to go real big on her birthdays. She usually has a long list of everything she wants to do and how she wants to celebrate.  I have to make choices on narrowing down her list because our pockets dont run deep and there is always next birthday for some of the stuff we don't do this time.

So like every birthday morning we celebrate with a stack of pancakes and candles in it. Well i thought i would try something new and decorate a little after she went to bed to surprise her in the morning. I crate papered her bedroom door so she couldn't get out and hung up a few birthday banners in the dinning room. She was so surprised and was like i can't get out mom? So i made her run through it and she really thought it was fun.

She asked for us to pick her up from school and that she wanted me to come to eat lunch with her at school and bring jimmy johns with her. Well girl... mom does have a lot going on while you are at school. You do know that right?? I said I would think about it.

She also asked for a birthday crown because 3rd graders don't get them anymore. So Scott and i had a crown build off..  He won by a land slide. i can't compete with a fancy wire crown to a felt crown. He did do amazing job. it has her name and age in the crown. Show off!

While she was at school i went to the store and got stuff to make her request birthday dinner and cupcakes. Got all the other stuff off my to do list done and Henry went done for his nap with no problem. So i called up our trusty neighbor to see if she could watch Henry and she was able to. I stopped by jimmy johns and headed to the school for lunch. I have never done that before, they have asked me to join them many times but it just never worked out. She was so happy i came.

Then i left the school and returned home and a few hours later went back to pick her up again. Seriously the things we do for our kids.....

We had our steak, egg drop soup and corn dinner. Weird? well it was what she requested and she said it was all her favorite things.

We had her friend birthday a few days later. This year we went to zero gravity which is a indoor trampoline park. Groupon had a deal and i figured a weekday would be less busy in there so a double perk. She had 3 friends come home after school on the bus, and we had pizza and cupcakes and open up presents and then headed over to the trampoline place. I had a extra ticket so the girls made me join them.  I was really fun actually. There is a rock climbing wall with foam blocks below you jump in, a bounce pit, and a whole side of just trampolines floor and walls. There was also a basket ball spot and dodgeball court. They all had a blast jumping for a hour and then it was time to bring them all home.
the party gang

she requested gluten filled cupcakes and pizza!

I might had put in trick re lighting candles...

very messy nail studio kit

smelly color pencils

this is how a puppy eats cake she said!

This worked out perfect not to expensive, simple and they all had fun.  We will go back this summer for a little summer time fun i told them.

I still am in awe of the age she is at already. Time is moving quickly and she is getting more grown up by the second.
