Kate's Progress
So many have asked how kate is doing since going gluten free and my answer has been good. She complains way way less about tummy aches, she occasionally will say her tummy hurts but i think it more she wants to get out of going somewhere or she is hungry. But she eating us out of house.... I think her body is finally able to absorb the food she is eating and it is craving the nutrients. She is like a hungry teenager that can eat double her weight in random foods. Her attitude is much more pleasant and she is not a gas bomb anymore.
I guess the real proof that she is improving was the phone call i got today from her reading teacher. She has been going to a reading group to help her catch up each day. She really hasn't made much progress all year and she told me today she went up two reading levels this last month. Say what????? She has past her 1st grade sight words and is working on her 2nd grade words now. I have noticed her focus level is a lot better, she still is the most zoned out girl in the house but that just might be who she is. She has had a big change in her attitude about school since getting diagnosed she gets up early in the mornings and is excited to go which is a much need change. I asked her teacher if her diet change has benefited her learning and she agreed with me that since we changed her diet she has improved leaps and bounds. She was happy we found what has helped her.
Thanks for everyone checking in on us and the prayers as we adjusted to this. We appreciate it so much
