The Madness
Yesterday we had the haggenmiller clan over for Thanksgiving feast! Well almost, Shaun and Colie were able to make it, Grandma Disher came, and then we added Josh's room mate too! It was a fun & relaxed day, and the weather couldn't be any better. We spent a lot of the time outside riding bikes and playing with the dogs.
Then we spent the rest of the day looking at all the black Friday ads, pondering what everybody wants and needs.
Anna and Tim were going to Target to get a new TV, and I thought I would join them for my first ever black Friday adventure. It was fun and a little chilly. But it totally would've been a lot worse {then i would've stayed home}. We arrived at the target in north town at 6pm which made us 7th in line. Only 6 more hours to go before we were able to get in the door. Totally Crazy, I know! But i think the people who were first in line were super crazy. They arrived at 8 am. and then next person arrived after them was a guy at 5pm. Talk about dedication. They did bring a tent, chairs, TV, laptop, and food was getting delivered Thur out the day.
Anna and I did make a quick bathroom break and to buy some heat packs for our feet and fingers at Walmart next door. I'm glad weren't there buying a TV, because at 10 pm about 6 or more cop cars went flying there to deal with a wild crowd and people stealing gaming equipment.
I decided that black Friday is kinda like tailgating. You sit there for hours talking about nothing then that leads to a group of people talking about nothing and that leads to a big big group of people laughing and having a super silly time. As the time went by the silliness sure came out of us.To be honest I'm surprised the lady behind us didn't friend me on facebook yet, but she did want to take a group photo! Sorry that didn't happen! She was that kind of a lady!
It was fun to listen to each group of people making a game plan on how they are going to tackle the store, and everyone telling each other how they are going to kick there butt if they get before them. Don't worry it didn't come down to that there was more TV then there were people in the group around us buying them. They set it up that the first 30 got to go in first then there was 30 sec. hold before the next 30 got to go in. We got in and grabbed the TV & cables and item from kitchen section and thru the crazy maze they set up for check out and back to the car to load. We did that in 10 minutes. And within being in the store for less then 10 minutes they ran out of carts. I'm glad we didn't need a whole bunch of items from each section. The best part was I didn't buy a thing! I'm one thrifty shopper.
I'm running on 6 hours of sleep! 3 Cups of coffee and then we headed out to the YMCA open house for a 2 hour workout. I think my bed is calling me!
Look at the cut tie I made ernie! Adorable and handsome....
