Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas
From our crazy family

This year we did a little change up from the typical years.  We wanted more time with the kids and less running...... Christmas eve morning we decided to make some Christmas cookies for Santa   These are the only Christmas cookies we made this year, besides Great Grandma Caley's caramel rolls.  I picked out a candy cane cookie to make.  I had two very good helpers in the kitchen with me this morning, they both took there turns pouring the ingredients in and rolling the dough.

After we finished baking them, we headed over to target to do some gift shopping!  Dessert Grandpa & Grandma sent money for the girls and they wanted to go pick out there gift.  Talk about a adventure!  They had to learn about the concept of money and wants!  After about 1 1/2 of walking down the aisles over and over they finally were able to pick out there stuff in there budget.  Sweet Bella had a few bucks left and wanted to treat everyone to icee's!  She has such a big heart!  Then it was home to eat lunch and take a nap before church.... Somewhere between here and church the girls turned into two cranky girls.  Bella refused to go to kids church, which she loves, and Kate had a fit as we left because she wanted a book she already had.  So we drove home two teary eyed kids and said hopefully they will pass out early tonight!  I made some Swedish meatballs for dinner and then we watched some Christmas movies.  Bella made us all go to bed by 9 because she was worried Santa would not come if we were not all in bed at the same time!  So we put out a plate of cookies next to our stockings and went to bed!

And at 6:30 am we were all up checking out what the old man had brought! :)  They were pretty excited!
Just got up to see what they got!

Our Christmas Tree

Bella wanted to make sure the cookies were gone because she said she wouldn't believe if the cookies were still there!  Looks like she still believes!  Then i got smart this year and said no present opening till we all have a good breakfast.  So we all had some omelettes and then proceeded to unwrap the gifts.  It's fun watching there faces as they open each of there gifts, they get so excited and say thank you like a billion times!  Then we spent the afternoon playing with each toy for about 2 min. before moving on to the next toy!  There on winter break till next Wednesday so now they will have lots of stuff to play with till school begins again.
This is the one they picked to open first!  And it's funny because it's the present the really wanted!

Ohh and they got there stompeez slippers. As they walk the eyelids open and close!

Flying sock money's from Dessert grandparents

Kate's favorite thing at church to play with... Melissa & Doug puzzle

Every night at dinner Kate pray's for a unicorn and now she has one!

She has matching boots with her best friend

Bella wrapped up a book for me that she picked up off the donation table at school and thought i would love it!  It's a chunky bible story book for a toddler! I laughed so hard, she is cute!

I made dad a blanket of his own!  It's a fleece airplane blanket, that the dog and the kids seemed to have taken it over already!  Oh the joys of being a parent!

Scott is back to work today and i'm wishing i would have asked him to bring in the Christmas totes in last night, so i can pack it all up today.  Instead i'm making piles as i walk around the house.  I kinda was ready for it all to come down maybe a week and half ago!  I'm not much for clutter mess around the house.  I don't know why i get so excited every year to put it up right after Turkey day then I'm  sick of it by Christmas!  Next year the decorations might be a little different and less ornaments on the tree because of a little baby around the house!

We have one more Christmas gathering on the 30th with the Haggenmiller clan! Which is always fun!   Last night before bed Kate asked if we can open more presents again tomorrow morning! I had to burst her bubble and tell her NO!
