Stitch a roo
So last night marked the first time having to go to the ER to get stitches for our kids. Bella and her friend were playing before her mom picked her up. They thought the game Angry Birds would be fun to re an-act in person. So they put a bunch of there toys out on the floor, and then they would crash into them just like the game. Well some how Bella ended up landing on one of her magnetic dress up dolls. She was screaming and i had no clue what she had done and when i finally turned a light to see, i was Eeekkkk gross! So we gathered all the kids and headed off to the ER. If I was the one that suggested we go there it must be bad. Scott is the one who is always saying we should go and i tell him it has to be serious to really go there. So the time we arrived, which is only a few blocks away it was like 8:40 pm. And the lobby was FULL! What! does everyone hurt themselves Monday evenings? They first told us it would be a least a hour before even getting seen! Yeah, kids crawl up and sleep! Kate gave Bella the stuff animal that she brought with her to make her feel better! Oh sister love.....Bella's friend's mom came and picked up her daughter just before we got wheeled back to the room. Perfect timing. Bella had amazing nurse who had kids of her own and tons of energy to amuse Bella. She gave her like 4 freezes, and Hannah Montana movie to watch. And Kate became the nurses assistant!
Bella does not do good with the un known of what they were going to do with her. She screamed so loud i could hear her all the way down the hall of the ER, and it's a large ER. On the way to the hospital she was scared we were going to stitch up her leg ourselves like a show she saw on tv. It took a lot of convincing that we were not going to do it ourselves! Oh my the things kids see and believe on tv.
I tried to get out of being in the room with the stitches being done. So i took Kate for a walk and i couldn't stay away with Bella screaming that loud. So I ended up being back in there to help. Kate was entertained by a puzzle on my phone and could care less what was happening with the screaming Bella. It took both Scott and I, and two nurses to hold down her while the Dr. gave her 5 stitches. She insisted on watching them stitch her, she totally gets that from me. We left the emergency room around 10:30 or so, we were so impressed with that time. We have never been thru a ER that quick.
Today she is home taking it easy. She has never missed a day of school this year or even in Kindergarten.....We took a nap after we got Kate and Bella's friend off to school. {Bella's friend's grandma is gone for a month so her mom drops her off at 6 am every morning and picks her up after they get home from school, except for Monday & Thursday's @ 9:15. She has become my other daughter :)} I asked Bella if i could nap and she said no! So a few minutes later I asked her again if i could sleep in Kate's room and she said yes. So i dragged my sleep essentials down with me and laid down only to be asked if she could join me a few minutes later. We slept till we had to pick Kate up from school. I was glad to see her rest, she is not a napper! We didnt get to sleep till really late last night, and even then i got no sleep thinking she was going to be up in pain or she might sleep walk. So I say the rest of the day should be lay around in your pj day!
*Sorry no pictures of the knee! It's all bandaged up....
