Henry's 5 Month Update

Wahoo this month sure flew by!  He has gained one pound this month but grew inches.... i measured him myself and he measured 27 in long, which is 2.5 inch growth this month. He is wearing 6-9 month shirts,  9 month jumpers and some 12 month jumpers. depends on brand.

He is currently teething 2 bottom teeth at once. They are getting close to poking through. Poor lil man is definitely uncomfortable but handling it like a pro. We just started this week giving him oral gel to relieve some of the discomfort.  Everything and i mean everything goes into his mouth, and he has sure became a drooling machine.

His top favorite things to do is.
1.) suck on everything
2.) play with his toes
3.) be lifted up above you head
4.) roll over.... Top favorite by far!

He has been waking up at least once a night sometimes twice. Im sure it's because of this teeth coming through. He is still taking a AM and afternoon nap!  And the other day he feel asleep by himself for his morning nap and once he feel asleep on his own for bedtime. Usually he has to be nursed to sleep. I was so proud of him. He hums himself to sleep its funny!

He has become very bored in the toys that he once loved. He has a jump a roo that he once really loved jumping in and now he maybe will be in it for like 5-10 minutes, and he has out grown his bounce chair his head and toes reach both ends of that chair. The baby swing is done too, he has reached his weight limit in it where it doesn't really swing anymore with him in it. So he rolls around on the floor now, or mama carries him.  We got him a leaf frog activity table at the thrift store. I stood Henry up next to it and he stood next to   it by himself. Wow totally impressed me that a almost 5 month old could do that. He is so strong! He is really getting good about sitting up by himself. He can for a few seconds but then does a face plant.

Mr. Henry is still nursing like a champ, but is getting really curious about food. If i have food in my hand he is trying to grab it out of my hands. He got some mashed potato last night at dinner. So i guess i better start making some plans on what our food plan is for him.  I cant believe it's time to start feeding him solids, it makes me a little sad.  He's our last baby and i want him to stay that way longer.

I got a new baby carrier this week... I love love love my baby carriers. Some people are just not into them but seriously they make my life so much easier and he loves that he is close by me too!  This one is a baby ring sling. It's great for babies that love sitting on your hip, and that is so Henry lately. He likes to be able to see and look around at what we are doing. My ergo baby carrier at the moment is not his favorite because he cant see out, his eyes at level with the straps. I even got the hubby to wear the ring sling while he was working in the garage. It was cute the two of them working on motorcycles together.

We have been enjoying bike riding together! We went two nights in a row for about a hour each, he loved it and didn't fuss at all.

We also did a lot of activities this month! We went for a nice walk down by the stone arch bridge, visited Duluth, went to the neighborhood block party, you were dedicated at our church, went north for a family BBQ, your Grandpa and Grandma Shaw {desert grandparents} came and visited, and went to a family wedding. It was a fun month for you!
