A Date With Kate the Great

We finally got to take Kate out for fun with both mom and dad.  Bella is away at the Dells and with a friend, so Henry went to the neighbors house (he calls them Grandma and Grandpa).  Kate picked mini golf so we decided to go to lilli putt because they have bumper boats and go carts.

We started off this saturday like we always do... Bakery  By the time we were coming home kate was asking to sleep she was up at the crack of dawn excited for this day to begin.

She was so excited to out with just the two of us, she kept saying on the way there this is going to be the best day ever!  We first played a round of mini golf and i was going to keep score but by hole 5 i lost my pencil and we gave up then!  I wish didn't because i totally think i won..ha ha i can say that because I'm the one typing right now! ;)  Kate started off crazy good, and slowly started wacking it very crazy.. Lets just say some golf balls ended up in some water.  By hole 5 for scott he thought he was a hot shot and he didn't want to go down and around the bend so he wacked the ball hard and it ended up over the fence. Some kid had to jump the fence for him. I laughed so hard i was crying!  At once point i almost ended up falling in the stream to get kates ball out. That was crazy!

She wanted to be first with her bright pink ball

First one in the water was Dad

we were behind a big group so we had time for selfies

this was not the first ball in the water....

we just finished all the rounds of golf

After we finished golfing Kate was ready to go on bumper boats. Scott drove one and so did kate i stayed back so we could have enough tickets for go karts. Kate was old enough to drive which was one thing she was hoping for since we told her about this place. She was a animal out there no mercy on her dad. You can spray water at each other with the steering wheel and she nailed him.  She also kept going under the water fall. I was so happy i stayed back it was a cold windy day and they were drenched.

Kate was not old enough to drive a go kart by herself so we went together and scott went by himself. I had to drive because she was not old enough, it started off slow but the guy adjusted it and we were flying around a super bumpy track. I left with a head ache from the bumpy road.

We had 2 tickets left so kate wanted to go to bumper boats by herself and lets just say this grandma and her grandson left very wet kate was on them like white on rice and grandma was yelling go away I'm good. we had to take kate's shirt off and put her in a sweatshirt because she was shaking from being wet and cold.

2 hours later we did everything they had to offer so we grabbed some culvers and headed home to pick up Henry.  Kate wanted to eat with her brother she said. I have to say being alone with Kate she had us cracking up with such funny little zinger lines and comments.  It gave me a little fill on her. Kate is my challenge child she digs her heels in on everything you say and it drains me. But spending quality time with her she gave me a little different side to her that was refreshing.

The plan was to eat lunch and head down to Loring Park to attend the Chipotle Cultivate Festival. We left we drove around that area for 20-30 min. and gave up. We went to a park to let the kids play then stopped at a ice cream shop and up cycle store, and of course a bike shop then headed home slowly. We love to drive around the cities and find fun stuff along the way. We were bummed we didn't make it to the festival but they had Walk the Moon band there and that must of drew a lot of people in this year. It was not that way last year.
our last pit stop on the way home and this place does fun rock sculptures

chocolate ice cream

lemon bar which tasted like i was really eating a lemon bar, i was wondering if should have gotten 2 scoops.  ;0

cute little store that scott thought of me when every time he passed it on the way home. He was right i loved it,

It was ok because a big storm was coming in around the time that band was going to play and we didn't want to be stuck in that so we went home and made gf pizza and watched the storm pass.

We feel so blessed to have great neighbors who love on our children and friends that take our kids along like they are there own.
