Hello

It has been awhile but life has been so busy and crazy and this just got put on the back burner.  We just finished up another year of school and then a few days later the mr. and I were on a road trip to California.

Kate is going to be a 2nd grader next year and flying solo in the elementary school without her sister. I can wait to see the growth Kate has this coming year i have a feeling it's going to be good.

soon to be 2nd grader

Bella is moving up to the intermediate school and is excited yet very nervous. She is not thrilled about being the youngest grade at the school again but she will get over that.

soon to be 4th grader

Scott's brother decided to move out to the Sacramento area in California because his job is flexible on where he works. He works for apple and takes customer care phone calls so it doesn't matter where he is answering the phone as long as he is!  So he loaded up his Kia Forte and our prius and we headed out. Scott, Anna (scott's sister), josh (scott's brother) and I went. No kids they stayed at our house with grandma and grandpa. We left at 3:30 am. tuesday morning and headed out west and we made it his new house the next day at 4pm California time. We spent the night in a hotel for a few hours but we did some major driving.

We were planning on staying at his new place for the night and then doing one exploring trip around California but the place he moved into the a/c went out and was not going to be back on for a few days so we decided to go to San Fransico for the night and check out the bridge and stay the night and go explore the next day before heading back home. I don't think this city sleeps ever the traffic was nuts and the constant horn honking was getting old. They honk there horns for everything and anything!  We made it to the bridge a hour before they close up the park and the walking paths across the bridge. We decided to walk across the whole thing and back i think it's about 2 miles long. I think we hit it at a perfect time we got pictures of it before it got dark with the fog rolling in and after we finished the walk with the lights on.  Our hotel was not awesome it was in Oakland because the prices are more resonable but this place was gross and weird. The bathroom had a window that opened and you could slide it open and look into other peoples apartments and down to the alley.  The next morning we headed out to explore San Fran and it took us a least a hour to cross one bridge to get back in the city and then we ended up in a scary homeless area where we were going to have breakfast because the reviews were awesome but we vetoed that after a scary walk down the street.  We did some tourist attractions before we left we stopped and visited the windiest street where the love bug was shot and walked up and down it but didn't drive it and we also searched for the Full House house but couldn't find it. These roads are scary to drive in this city and i was so glad that Scott was there to drive us otherwise we would be walking the whole thing. Yes you will get a great back side work out in this town!!!!

We headed home mid day and we planned on taking it semi easy and stopping when we wanted along the way home. First stop was Lake tahoe and unfortently the town was mostly closed up because it was 6:30 but we did find a yummy restaurant called Rosie's that was a cute place that had bikes and animal mounts hanging all over it. The food was great too!  I could live here it was beautiful... Or may a next vacation spot.  We also made a trip to see the corn palace in south dakato. I have heard about this place for about 15 years from my father in law... If i didn't go i would not hear the end of it, plus i wanted to see what all his fuss was about.  I guess i had a vision of what i thought it might look like and it was not it. They have tons of art work that is made from corn cobs but the whole thing is a gift shop basically.  Ohh well we made some corn purchases and maybe a selfie stick which made us laugh so hard trying to figure out how to use it!

we were laughing so hard we cried on trying to figure out this selfie stick

The last part of the trip the car was hard we were ready to be out of the car and see our own homes and the kids.I feel it went great, we saw beautiful sights as we passed through each state and laughed along the way as we made up funny games to play.  I am so glad we were able to experience this.  Scott's mom did a great job of watching the kids by herself for the most part along with dealing with a death her in family and we are so blessed to have family wanting to take our kids.  I know they had a blast with her and they look forward to grandparent time.

I think Anna's face sums of her thoughts of my selfie stick fun!
