summer break week 2
Well i only had the girls 2 half this week. They spent the rest of the time at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Kate had all her birthday money and she wanted to go clothes shopping. She bought some tank tops, shorts, dress, and a new pair of flip flops. This is one of our outfits.
It was time to color my hair.... Seriously it feels like it's always on my to do list.... I went all over red, because red's have way more fun!
We also made some homemade ice cream. It was a pinterest thing i found where you put it in a ziplock bag and then put that bag in another ziplock with the ice and salt. Then you toss it back and forth for 5 min. Well if you ask me FAIL.... the bag broke open like a million times, and it didn't get to thick. It tasted good but it was on the runny kind!
The girls and ashley also took some quality time with Henry before they went north. They pulled Henry around on his little pony in the living room. Boy did he love that!
We drove up to Cambridge on Wed to meet up with Grandma and then Henry and I headed back South. While the girls were away the three of us rode bike and went for long walks. Grandma took the girls and Aunt anna to the Breman Campground Friday and Saturday. They got to sleep in anna's little camper and go paddle boating on the lake. The had a blast. Kate said she was going "real camping", not sure what made that real but she was very animate about it!
Grandpa came down on Saturday to go to the state fair grounds to see back to the 50's with Scott and henry. Those three were gone for hours. Henry learned to say ooooowwwww, he might have heard that a time or two that day! While the boys were out playing i hopped on my bike and did a 7 mile ride around my favorite man made lake.
We met up with the girls on Sunday morning at Great Grandma's house. We had Brooklyn and Hannah's Birthday party to go to up North. So we loaded the truck up and drove north about a hour and half. This is the day we all saw our first moose. It was crossing the road heading into the woods. I just wish my camera loaded to capture a better photo. I just can't get over the size of that animal and how amazingly beautiful they are.
While we were at the party all the kids got there first tractor ride too! Uncle Ryan gave Henry and Bella a ride around the field. Scott wanted to join in on the fun too, so Kate rode on his lap. It's the simple things that make great memories!
It was a fun week even though we were all over the map doing our own things for most of the week.
