Summer Break Week 1
Well we made it through week one of the summer break. It is usually the hardest because we are all adjusting to being around each other all day and we our learning our expectations for each other. It's the time I am setting the ground rules and figuring out our new daily balance. The first two days attitudes were up there so i make a chart for behaviors. They each have a clothes pin and if i have to give them a warning they get clipped down the chart. The chart has a warning, time out, lose a device, and bed early section. They each took a day where they made it to the time out but were able to not go past that.
We started out the week going to the park. My kids love the park so much, we can't go for a bike ride without stopping at a park. It's is one of my new favorite parks because it has a little park for henry and big park for the girls. It also is on a little lake, baseball field, and walk path. We ended up at that park two times in one week! I just wished it was walking distance from my house.
I also have a bin full of craft supplies for the kids. If they are getting bored or restless i pull it out and do a project with them. They are always jazzed when it happens..... I love that they enjoying doing that kind of stuff because i love it so much. This week we made some decorations and signs for kate's friend party and they hung them all around. But that was about that for craft activities for the week. I am hoping to try out some new craft projects and maybe some science activities this summer.
I have ashley, a friend of ours daughter every day till the 17th. The girls have a friend to play with which makes it a little easier too. And we have also have enjoyed the slip and slide, and trampoline almost everyday this past week.
Here are some fun pictures of the past week.
I am excited to see what week 2 brings!
