1 Years Old

Yep it has been a year since my little man was born!  Where has the time gone?  I ask myself this question all the time.  I remember when i was pregnant and i was counting the days till he arrived and now we are celebrating his one year birthday today.  I have to say i cherished every moment with him this past year and I am so excited that i was able to see every milestone, and watched him as he discovered the world around him.  I am so proud of this little man. He came into this world at 8 lbs 15oz and 20 inches in length.

and one year later
weighs 25 lbs and is 29 inches in length

Every birthday in this house we celebrate with a stack of pancakes, candle and the good ole fashion happy birthday song!  He was not sure about the candle and he wanted to touch the flame!

We are going to be having his party next Saturday so there were no presents to open but a nice chill day at home with the family! He also took two long naps on his special day!  If you ask me that sounds perfect....

Henry has picked up two new words this past month. Ball & Dog.  He will say them when he see them.  He loves both of them so much!  So know he knows ball, dog, mama, dadda

This little guy is a climber... He will climb on anything and everything to get what he wants.  He is like a little body builder!  I don't think he knows how strong he really is!  :)

I have a permanent step stool at my front window for him to look outside.  It brings him such joy to be able to see the outdoors and what is happening outside.  He watched the birds and the squirrels and the cars passing by.  He is a very curious little boy.

He is still a very good eater. He will eat anything, as long as he is able to do it himself. He likes to be independent!  For example i made a cake and i gave him a fork full of a cake and he was not going to have the fork full he had to grab the whole slice of cake.  Or the time he insisted he had to get a girl scout cookie out of the box by himself. He got 8 teeth this last year too!

This last month we were able to get the wagon out and take a few walks around the neighborhood in it, and were able to take a short bike ride in the ibert too.  He enjoys the outdoors for sure!

Henry has experienced sledding for the first time this past month and he had the biggest smile on his face as he was cruising down the hill on my lap.  I am so glad he enjoyed that, because i still enjoy sledding.

Henry has a few new favorite items this past month.  The girl's hair brush~ he will walk around the house combing everything. I think he likes the noise it makes.  Scott picked up a small plane airplane from the Disney's Plane movie that he will carry around the house.

This past month he has had his 3rd haircut in the past year.  This little boy can sure grow some hair.  I have a feeling he will be getting super short haircuts for summer because it will be easier to maintain.   This last time i brought him in to Kid's Hair to have a  professional cut it. I am not a fan of cutting kids hair, they are way to wiggly for me!

Henry also has found a new favorite spot to lounge when he is getting tired and wants a cozy spot to relax.  Rosie's dog bed.  Yep you heard right he will plop down and chill there for some time.  I'm telling ya he loves this dog and everything about her!  He really loves her dog kennel. If i let him out of the living room area he will head straight to Kate's room to go inside the dog kennel. He will have the biggest smile on his face, it's hilarious.

We introduced Henry to 2% milk this past week. He took it with no issues!  So far we only give him one bottle of it each day. We are going to be slowing giving him more as we begin the weaning process.

Henry has learned how to clap thanks to his new favorite song." If your happy and  you know it." He will stop and dance along as you sing it.  This guy loves music!

This little guy can mimic just about anything we do.  Such as me pretending to fly his little toy plane up in the air and he will do the same thing i do.  Or if we cough he will do a fake cough too!  It's funny how much they can pick up on!

We ended the day with a stop at Key's Cafe to get some cupcakes for the birthday boy.

And you can tell by the picture this little guy loved it.  *note... He only got half the cupcake and quarter of the frosting because the frosting was so rich!

*Peek into what his party is going to be like next Saturday*
