Henry's 8 month update

I little behind on posting this but Henry is keeping me from having a chance to type this up!  This lil man is teething and when he is teething it seems he refuses his nap routine.  His top two teeth are breaking through and he is so uncomfortable. Which means i get NOTHING done, and no sleep at night!
This last month he has grown and learned  lots of new things every day, i swear.  I think he will be walking before long. He loves to pull him self up and can hold on to something with one hand and move up and down and pick stuff up. He also is able to stand on his own after you let go of him for  a second.  He crawls around the house super fast now.  The baby gate was not up in the dining room and with in seconds he did a lap around the house to find us.

He weighs 22 lbs {dr.office scale} and is about 28 inch long {according to my tape measure} still wearing 12 month clothes, still cloth diapering, still breast feeding, still loves the baby carriers, and is still a mama's boy!

He also discovered that he can open drawers in the kitchen, so that meant that we had to go buy cabinet hooks {which are still sitting in the package on the kitchen counter :(  } Speaking of kitchen fun he thinks the best thing ever is the running dishwasher. He will stand and talk to it while it is running for a long time.  He also likes to climb in the dish washer while i am cleaning it out! Stainless steel is not our friend when it comes to babies- they look horrible!

While i was getting ready in the morning i would bring him in the bathroom and give him a few bath toys to keep him occupied and that was not enough, till one day he crawled over and discovered the best toy ever….. TP he rolled out a good section and then began to eat it. I can't wait till he realizes that the toilet is awesome too!

He still loves all foods, he eats the little puff, purees, and finger veggies.  When he sees you eating he will bolt over to see if he can get some by making a noise to let me know he wants it.
but sometimes he is too tired to eat!

I have been teaching him the word NO….. I think he is finally getting it. He likes to rip papers off the wall and then i say no, he laughs and then he usually stops or i redirect him.  He is going to be learning all kinds of stuff he is not aloud to do!

We still have not given him a hair cut, i think I'm going to grow it a bit more and see what we end up doing with him.  Maybe we have him sport a LA long beachy hair! :)

He no longer bathes in a baby tub in the bath tub.  He know baths like the big kids! But he doesn't sit still and play he likes to go back and fourth and tries to climb out every 5 seconds. It makes bath time challenging!

When Henry is not happy or doesn't want to do something, he just throws him self back. It drives me crazy because it usually happens when your walking next to a wall or he hits his head on the floor.  He also is being a little mama cling. He will fuss when he sees me when someone else is holding him, and when i hold him he stops the attitude. Mama's boy for sure!

He seems to have grown out of his i hate riding in the car in the dark. Which is awesome… But he doesn't like the initial getting put in the car seat. But i have a secret song that makes it easier. Well actually this song works for diaper changes, fussy times, and when ever he not the happiest. It's the ABC song. No joke. Kate was singing it and Henry just beam a big old smile. Well i found when she sang that song he always calmed down and smiled. So i just use when i need it!  He will know his ABC's before long! The whole family begins singing that song as soon as we start loading the truck together. What can i say were a happy singing family!

Every once in awhile he will wave to us. It far and few between but its so precious when he does it.

He now sleeps in his crib in his bedroom. We tried it one night and he slept almost through the whole night. I think Daddy's snoring was waking him up :)

Henry's favorite toys this past month has been a plastic hammer, { shhh don't tell Henry but Santa is bringing him a hammer that makes noise in his stocking}, and he loves the girls doll house, and a small thomas train. We just bought him a toy that he can walk behind it when he turned 8 months.  He loves that toy!

Here is a weekly photo from the past month starting on October 23rd to present.
