Henry's 7 Month Update
This past month he sure has changed! He has reached a few milestones and is growing beyond measures. He also has reached the stage i don't care to much for..... But they all have to do it at some point. He weighs 22 pounds {my scale with his clothes on}and is wearing 12 month clothes for the most point. I sure have a rock solid lil man!
Yep it's official, I have a crawling baby! He did a little one knee crawl and then stop for a long time, but then 6 months and 3 weeks old he just started bolting towards something he wanted. It's fun to watch them learn new stuff. I think there just as proud as we are! And let me tell you i am rearranging my house daily. He finds something he wants and will do anything to get to it. He loves to get stuck under his Jump a roo and bop his head. He also likes to find the tiniest thing on the floor and try to eat it. He really enjoys taking the girls papers off the wall and eating them.
Henry also loves to crawl up to stuff and climb up. He is the happiest when he is standing up and checking what is going on. He will be walking before long! I watched him hold on to a pillow on the couch with his left hand and reached down to the floor with is right hand before letting go with his left. I guess he is getting more grace and understanding the fall is not that much fun.
He now is having oatmeal for lunch and some kind of puree for dinner. He loves everything! He will make a funny face every time you give him the first spoonful but then he is gobbling it up. We tried a puree from one of those puree food pouches when we were out for dinner this past week, and i'm amazed at how awesome they work. You can attach this spoon thing to the nozzle and away you go there is a mess free method.
Henry is on a three nap schedule at the moment. Usually his morning or his mid day nap is about a 1 1/2 -2 hour nap. Which is awesome because it gives me a chance to catch up everything and spend time with Kate. I wish it was always the morning time then i could join him. I haven't had a nap in forever!
He has not been sleeping good at night. He will fall asleep at his feeding and then when he gets put in his crib he wakes up and only wants to fall asleep while your holding him. Or he wakes up in the middle of the night and refuses to go back to bed. All week we have been up at least 3 times and it takes at least 40 ish minutes {on a good day} to get him back to sleep. I am letting him cry so he can learn to fall asleep on his own but he has his own plans. Every night has been a trial and error.
He is about ready for his 2nd haircut. Im trying to decide what look we should be going for! I think he could pull off any look with his big shining smile. But never the less he needs a trim -stat.
Bath times are getting really intresting now! He likes to climb out of his tub and stand up in the tub. Which is dangerous and annoying! But he still loves baths... i think he would stay in the tub for hours like my girls do.
Henry loves to make crazy sounds. He makes a annoying cough when he wants to drink now! He makes a Eeeeeee when he is wanting more food. And funny noises when he playing. I swear i heard him say hi today but that is crazy! I want him to say mama first!
He had his first real nasty cold this past month. He just wasn't himself. He had a bad cough and running nose. We did a lot of lounging around the house that week. This photo captures his damneder well!
We have had to dress in warm winter gear this past week in the mornings at the bus stop. He is not to sure about wearing all that bulky gear. He spends most of the time slobbering on his coat! I am excited to see his reaction to snow!
Henry has one issue and its a big issue. He hates his rear facing car seat. Maybe? During the day he does fuss a smidge about getting in it, but at night is when he really lays his frustrations down. When we drive when the sun has set he will scream the entire time. But as soon as i turn the car off and open my door he stops. I don't know what his deal is about driving at night? I even left the light on next to him and that still makes him cry. Not sure if he hates his seat or what? Suggestions i'll take them!
Henry also has discovered our dog Rosie. I mean he loves her so much! Rosie can care less.... She will give him a big lick on the face, and allow Henry to pet her but that is about it. Henry really loves her dog bone, and toys.
