And there off to School Again.....
This year Scott decided he was going to go into work late and help me get the kids off to school on the first day. I was happy he was that makes that morning a bit easier. He hates missing moments in the kids life due to work. Every year i like to do a sign with the school year and a thing they are wanting to be when they grow up. It will be fun to look back at that, i think.
Bella is going to a new school she will only be a few blocks from our house but two crossroads are busy so i don't want her to do it by herself. If she was me she would already be walking. I walked to school from 4th grade till i was able to drive my own car. By things have changed... Bella really wanted to ride her bike to school so Scott thought he would ride with her to school on the first day and then ride back and pick her up. That way she was not alone. Well after doing that i decided she will not being doing that again. The cars were going around her and not caring she was a little girl on a bike. So frustrating. mom rage was going to happen. She will be a bus rider the rest of the year. She is the last to get picked up and first off. Beside that she had a blast and even met a few new friends. She is in the looping program and she will be in her classroom with her 120 kids and 4 teachers for this year and next. Im excited to see how she does in this home style classroom and 4 different teacher methods.
Kate is going to be getting dropped off and picked up from school this year so the bus snacking will be put to end. That was a problem last year! So after Scott got back from dropping Bella off we drove kate to her school. They had a bubble machine, balloons, and music as they welcomed the kids into the school. She was a bit nervous to be going there with out her sister, but i think she will grow to be independent. I also had to talk to the nurse one more time to make sure the school lunch ladies will change there gloves and follow parodical. I had some anxiety the night before that i was making a bad decision letting them cook half her meal for the month. They made up a gluten free menu for her and she picked which days she wanted.
After getting both kids Scott and i went to caribou and got a coffee to celebrate the moment and then he went to work. Henry and i went for a bike ride then came home and got some stuff picked up around the house. We then went to the gym around 11 and home by 12 for lunch and nap. I was excited to see if you would nap he has been boycotting them the past few weeks. He took one and i had to wake him up at 3 to go get bella from school. Crazy???? The whole time he napped i did nothing but lounge on the couch.... Yes it's true
We decided to go down to the mall of america after all the kids were picked up from school and celebrate Scott and I's 12 year wedding anniversary at our favorite restaurant. Twin Cities Grill the best part is they do gluten free menu and even make there own gf bread so kate can have rolls like us. The dinner went amazing the kids were well behaved and used there manors and then afterwards...... Lets just say kate had a fit so big that the mall cop had to come over and check on us. Her fits are something and very embarrassing.
But i would say this day went pretty good and I'm so proud of my kids doing something new and scary and coming home with new friends and confident.
