One Month Old
Wow.... Time sure does pass by fast when your running on no sleep and a busy family schedule!
A lot has happened this past month... Henry is 21 inches long and weighs 11 lbs on his one month birthday, which shows what a good eater he is! He is wearing 3 month clothes. Mostly because of his cloth diapers are little more bulky. I am so proud that we have successfully been able to strictly breast feed. We have gone thru a few hurdles with it so far but were able to overcome them and not had to supplement! Which is a first so far with all my kids. I hope it continues, but we will be introducing a bottle some time. Mom is going to need a date nite or mommy break eventually.
We are still cloth diapering and loving it. We have had to use disposables a few times and they leak....I have not had any trouble with my cloth leaking! And i think it's funny how when he poops in a cloth diaper you dont smell it, but in a disposable you for sure can smell it. Crazy! Scott has even been talking to his co workers about how much he loves his cloth diapers. Yeah crunchy daddy! But we do have our own favorite cloth diapers, when we go to change his diapers. I bought pre folds just for cost reasons for when he is a newborn, and i guess i wasn't planning on loving them. But I do! I can change a pre fold just as fast as disposable. The Mr. loves his sized happy heinys in Velcro Honestly i don't mind them but i don't like Velcro .. When you wash them they stick to everything and it ruins the Velcro on the diaper. Not good for resale! I even had to go buy him some more because we only had a few and he does all the night time diapers and if i didn't have them cleaned and ready to go i found out he puts him in a disposable then! Tiss Tiss :)
He has done tummy time since he was only a few weeks old and he doesn't seem to mind it. He is a strong little boy and now he has learned to use his feet to push up when he is doing diaper changes or tries to crawl up you when your holding him.
He also loves bath time..... Which is a first for any of my kids.. The girls hated bath time. I'm not going to lie he pees in his tub every bath time. Boys sure do keep you quick on your feet!
But I think his favorite thing to do is sleep in his baby carrier. I have two different style baby carriers. One is a wrap, and the other is the ergo. I love them both, it depends on what i'm doing when i choose which one im going to wear him with. When i go to they gym i usually do the wrap, its easy to pack in the diaper bag, and when he falls asleep i can take the wrap and cover part of his head and it's super secure. And the ergo is great if i'm going to be wearing him for a long time because its super padded and it has good structure. I have always been into wearing my babies, you get more done and they love being so close to you. Win Win
This past week he has been smiling a whole lot more. He likes it when you make cooing noises to him, or when you tickle him under his chin. He is slowly starting to stay awake more now. But he still loves to stay up to midnight. Mom is totally not a night owl, so dad usually does this shift. And he has a pacifer- which our family calls them Nuk-o's. Bella named her's that and we just kept the name. But he really doesn't like it, he will use it once in a great while but for the most part he gets mad when you shove it in his mouth. He would like to be a thumb sucker but has only mastered getting it in his mouth twice now. He is also a big fan of white noise. He likes the blow dryer sound when he is tired.
He is also just like his sisters and that is they love to be sang too, or they get calmed down when music is playing. Which is good, we love having music playing in the house all the time.
